I have curly hair and I always struggle to find a great cut! Except Denika Black in Halifax she kept me happy and returning every time. Alas, she left the haircutting world to become a nurse. She’s probably much busier now — considering the global pandemic, COVID-19.

Pete is my husband and I think he is good at all things, well most things, well all the things he shows interest in. I wanted to cut my hair on my own. I was desperate for a cut, my curls were tried, sad, and seriously depressed and the feeling was leaking into my body. The extreme isolation requirements is like wearing a lead hoody!

Pete sends me a youtube video of a professional cutting curly hair. Yes! He’s into it. He instructs me that I must prepare all the tools for the job and when that happens we can begin. We get the baby to bed and lay out the tools:

  1. Hair scissors (which sucked and were replaced with sharp fabric scissors)
  2. Hair Clips
  3. Parting Comb
  4. Towel
  5. Laptop — for youtube guidance.

And here is the final product!

I am very happy and love my new hair! Curls are coming back to life!
